THE INTEGRATION OF KNOWLEDGE AND HIS APPLICATION

Agree to by ilmuan, especially ilmuan social, that this modern world was stricken by the crisis in all of his fields. Concerning the reasons for various of their opinions. There were those who said, because the body was too full, was spiritual too hungry (Dr. Hanifah ash) there are those that said, because of the current law too much emphasised the right and did not heed the obligation (Dr. A. Rauf SH), there were those who said because of the conception mistake about the Lord and the truth (HS Zuardin Azzaino SE) and many others the other opinion. But because no matter what was the separation of knowledge and the religion (Dr. Ir. Hidajat Nataatmadja), that according to words of Roger Garaudy: knowledge has been separated from trasendensi. Dr. Sudjatmoko said: according to knowledge and my experience humankind just achieved welfare if they could have integrated knowledge and the religion in all thinking and their action.

The separation of knowledge and the religion had since long before happened in this world. The separation of knowledge and the religion happened both in the west and in the east. In the west happened because of the revolt of the scientists towards the mind inhibition that was very tight by the church. So as to have 32,000 scientists who were burnt alive by the ruler of the church, was caused disagreed with the church in various knowledge. In the east (Especially in Moslems's circle) happened because of the fatwa of the Muslim scholars towards knowledge, especially towards philosophy knowledge and chemical knowledge. The Muslim scholars prohibited this knowledge, burnt his books and tortured his leading figures like that was experienced by Abdus Salam bin Abdul Qadir Al Bagdady that was spread with the Ar Rukn term and Ibnu Rusydi.
Allah said, that people who were not good at to have good relationship with Allah and humankind, then their life will definitely experience the humility, as being decreed by him:
ضُرِبَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الذِّلَّةُ أَيْنَ مَا ثُقِفُوا إِلا بِحَبْلٍ مِنَ اللَّهِ وَحَبْلٍ مِنَ النَّاسِ
Meaning that: was blamed on them the humility anywhere they were, except if they had good relationship with Allah and had good relationship with humankind. (Q.S. Ali Imran: 112).
And Allah said again, that people who were not good at to have good relationship naturally, then their life definitely would the misery. Because of people who were not good at to have good relationship naturally, then the nature will definitely be broken.
And if nature has been broken, then their life definitely would the misery. In this case Allah decreed:
ظَهَرَ الْفَسَادُ فِي الْبَرِّ وَالْبَحْرِ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ أَيْدِي النَّاسِ لِيُذِيقَهُمْ بَعْضَ الَّذِي عَمِلُوا لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ
Meaning that: Has clear damage in the land and [is] gone out to sea because of the hands action of humankind, that finally Allah felt to them (torture) a part of that was done by them, that they come back (S. Ar Rum: 41).
Therefore meant Allah wanted so that humankind is good at to have good relationship with Allah, with humankind and naturally, so that their life is not insulted and not the misery. To be good at to have good relationship with Allah, with humankind and this nature, humankind must have knowledge that was complete about Allah, humankind and the nature. Without impossible knowledge humankind could have good relationship with the three of them that. Therefore meant Allah wanted so that humankind has knowledge that was complete about Allah, humankind and nature.
Afterwards if being read by us the letter of Al Fatihah, that is the letter that was stated as “Ummul Kitab”, that inside was contained all the contents of Al Qur’an, then will be found by us 1. Discussions about Allah, that is to the article 1, 2, 3, and 4; 2. discussions about humankind, that is to the article 5, 6; and 7; and 3. discussions about nature, that is the tip of the article 2 and 4. Therefore meant discussions of Al Qur’an completely was about Allah, humankind and nature.
After that Allah ordered humankind in order to study Al Qur’an (all of them) until understood true in order to be able to give the warning to people who had the mind, as being decreed by him:
كِتَابٌ أَنْزَلْنَاهُ إِلَيْكَ مُبَارَكٌ لِيَدَّبَّرُوا آيَاتِهِ وَلِيَتَذَكَّرَ أُولُو الألْبَابِ
Meaning that: the Book (Al Quran) that was dropped off by us he to you (Muhammad) that was blessed to be studied by them his articles and to give the warning to people who had the mind. (Q.S. Shad: 29)
Therefore meant Allah wanted so that humankind studied true about Allah, humankind and nature until understood true, so as to be able to give the warning to people who had the mind.
From this information clear, that Islam wanted so that humankind has knowledge that was integrated about Allah, humankind and nature. In other words Islam wanted so that knowledge and the religion are integrated.
Further Al Quran explained, that faith must be to Allah accompanied by the good deed shaleh (religious duties). Plenty of articles of Al Quran that explained this among them was:
وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ
Meaning that: And faithful as well as charitable people shaleh. (Q.S. Al baqarah: 82)
Al Quran explained also, that humankind must live:
1.social, because that of Al Quran in part told humankind to help mutually.
وَتَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى الْبِرِّ وَالتَّقْوَى
Meaning that: And would you helped mutually-helped in goodness and godfearing. (Q.S. Al Maidah: 2).
2. Was economical, because that of Al Quran in part told humankind to seek a living:
فَابْتَغُوا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ الرِّزْقَ
Meaning that: Then looked for fortune beside Allah. (Q.S. Al Ankabut: 17).
3. Engaged in politics, because that of Al Quran in part forbade the faithful person to appoint the person of the infidel was their leader:
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لا تَتَّخِذُوا الْكَافِرِينَ أَوْلِيَاءَ
Meaning that: Hi faithful people was not made you guys the infidel as the leader. (Q.S. An Nisa: 144).
4. Was cultured, because that of Al Quran in part told the faithful person to wear best clothes if going to the mosque:
يَا بَنِي آدَمَ خُذُوا زِينَتَكُمْ عِنْدَ كُلِّ مَسْجِدٍ
Meaning that: Hi Adam's children with your jewellery to each mosque. (Q.S. Al A’raf: 31)
5. Remained, because Al Quran in part told the faithful person to prepare with all the strength sorts to face the enemy:
وَأَعِدُّوا لَهُمْ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ مِنْ قُوَّةٍ
Meaning that: And you prepared to oppose them anything that you could from the strength. (Q.S. Al Anfal: 60).
And still many others aspects of the life of other humankind that was told work on by Al Quran. Because Al Quran was the directory for the life of humankind. Afterwards Islam wanted so that the cultivation of all the aspects of the life of the humankind is carried out with the high moral, so as the Prophet Muhammad SAW said, that as well as possible humankind was what was best his moral, as being said by him:
Meaning that: Actually that be as good-good you were what was best his moral (Muttafaqn alaih).
Therefore meant knowledge about his application humankind was the best moral.
Finally Al Quran ordered humankind:
1. To research nature.
أَوَلَمْ يَنْظُرُوا فِي مَلَكُوتِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأرْضِ وَمَا خَلَقَ اللَّهُ مِنْ شَيْءٍ
Meaning that: didn't they want to research the kingdom of sky and the earth as well as anything that was created by Allah? . (Q.S Al A’raf: 185).
2. To take the benefit that as much as possible from nature.
لِتَبْتَغُوا فَضْلا مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ
Meaning that: To be looked for by you the Your the infinite gift. (Q.S. Al Isra: 12).
Looked for Allah's gift in part: with agriculture (S. Al Anam: 141), with fisheries (S. Al Maidah: 96), with livestock breeding (S. Al Maidah: 1) and with industry (S. Hud: 37).
3. To conserve nature.
وَلا تُفْسِدُوا فِي الأرْضِ بَعْدَ إِصْلاحِهَا
Meaning that: And should not you made damage in the earth after good him. (A. Al Ar’af: 56).
If might not damage our significant earth must conserve him.
The research, the utilisation and conservation of the nature wanted technology, moreover in this modern time. Therefore meant knowledge about his application nature was technology.
If being concluded by us came across the scheme as follows:

His application of Religious service his application moral his application technology
Such was the Islam teaching about the integration of knowledge. Moslems must understand all of them, minimal in the line of the size.
